IPL Skin Rejuvenation

This is a gentle intense pulse light also known as a photo-facial treatment to stimulate collagen production and elastin and will therefore improve the firmness and overall texture of the skin long term.
Collagen and elastin fibres provide support and structure to the skin. With age our collagen starts to diminish, causing fine lines and wrinkles. Photo- rejuvenation activates the fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin, leaving you with a firmer, fresher, smoother, and younger looking skin.
As the course of treatments progress the collagen cells are continually activated, and the collagen comes to the surface and helps to reduce lines and wrinkles.

A typical course of treatment is between 6-10 but each client is unique and will be discussed with a thorough consultation. Top up treatments may be necessary 1-2 times a year.

A patch test and consultation is done 1-2 weeks prior to your first appointment.

Yes, the ageing process can cause the development of brown spots and darker pigmentation marks. IPL treatments are effective for treating many types of pigmentation marks on areas of the face, neck and hands It treats pigmentation marks by shattering the pigmentation and breaking it down which is then absorbed into the body.

Does it treat Thread Veins?

Photo-rejuvenation can also treat very tiny thread veins, for example (Red face) and helps calm rosacea. It is suitable for treating many red skin blemishes on the face and upper body.

Preparing for your appointment

Avoid sunbeds/sunbathing 4 weeks prior
Avoid using any retinol products or exfoliants on the area to be treated for 1 week prior. Avoid accutane for 6 months prior
Notify the therapist if you have any tattooing on or near the treatment area
If treating the face come to your appointment with no make up and avoid putting oils on the skin.

A course of treatment is essential to receive optimal results and each session is usually 3-4 weeks apart.
